Beauty in the Beast ~ Christine Danse

Beauty in the Beast Beauty in the Beast by Christine Danse
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Beauty in the Beast is an interesting short story following a storyteller who may not be telling stories at all. Danse weaves her tale in frost covered England in the heart of a snow storm. While seeking shelter four entertainers find themselves at the mercy of a kind stranger. This stranger has something to hide it seems, but Tara seems enchanted with him all the same. When he shares a story as well Tara knows there is more to him than meets the eyes. Rolph has somehow turned himself into a werebeast, and obviously hates himself for it and all he has done. Tara is a lost sould looking for love in the human world. The attraction to Rolph is understandable, maybe more so because of his beast side.
Overall the characters were likable and the story was interesting. I do wish that a little more time had been spent between Tara and Rolph before the climax of the story, it felt like a little more should have passed between them, but either way I did enjoy it.
